Red Fox on Revenge!

April 12, 2013

Many of you have written to me on social media to say that you spotted our Red Fox on ABC's Revenge, thank you! I finally got a chance to see the episode(s) and get some snaps myself. That's SIX prime time TV shows now. I'm honored and flattered and still it feels a bit bizarre to see the prints with actors and actresses on shows watched by millions. I'm also grateful to you guys for noticing the appearances and taking the time to write me and let me know! Oh, and just in case you were wondering, these screenshots are from Season 2, Episode 17 entitled "Victory".

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We'll be having a mini photoshoot for our kids and baby garments. Should be a fun time and I look forward to sharing the images with you.

TV Love!

March 05, 2013

We've had some love lately on NBC and FOX! Our Large Lion screenprint appeared on The New Normal (S1 Ep17) and our Squirrel and Wolf screenprints appeared on Raising Hope (S3 Ep18)! Actually if you watch The New Normal episode at about 14:00 in you'll see quite a few of our prints on the set. The Lion was the most prominent though. It is always neat to see how these prints are used on set and still a bit surreal to be honest. I love that yellow frame they used for the Lion print and it looks like they've finished the Squirrel and Wolf with a purple matte. Pretty neat!

A Week in Review

November 17, 2012

Thought I'd share with you guys some exciting news and changes that happened this week. First off, THREE of our screenprints were featured on set in Fox's GLEE! I actually got word from a friend that the Red Fox was spotted, but then when I went back to watch the episode on Hulu, I saw the other two! All three prints are used in Kitty's room during the Sandra Dee number, which is at about 15:00 into the episode. The Peace Heart and Potted Garden are discontinued prints but you can still purchase the Red Fox here

The second bit of news is that the portfolio for my design work has a new home! The Design Studio link on this site will direct you to the new site, aptly named Shannon Kennedy Designs. I've been wanting to create some separation from s+p to my freelance work for a while now so I am glad it is finally complete. Check out the new site and let me know what you think!

Yesterday I discovered via my good friend Susan that my Raccoon and Pirate Kitty screenprints were used in the newest Kindle Fire commercial! I found the video here on YouTube and also took a screenshot so you can check it out below. The screenprints appear at 0:24 in the video in the scene with the Mom and her son. Pretty cool!

Also, a huge thanks to everyone who came out to the Santa Ana Patchwork show this past Sunday. We had so much fun spending a gorgeous day meeting you all! If you came by our booth you also got to meet Max, our new German Shepherd puppy! I will be doing a future Snapshots post featuring him very soon, cue the oooohs & ahhhhhs :)

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend!

I have every exciting news! Last night four of my pieces were featured on the hit NBC show Parenthood! My sleuth East coast friends caught the scenes with the product and instantly let me know about it. The show comes on here on the West coast at 10pm so we were able to catch the episode ourselves! I can tell you it was a very surreal feeling to see my work sitting in Erika Christensen's character Julia's new nursery, as the walls are being prepped for painting. Let's hope they get hung soon! If you want to see the episode the prints appear at about 17:30  here. Thank you to everyone who emailed/tweeted/facebooked me about it, you guys are the best!!

New Shops!

October 10, 2011

sass&peril products are now available at Nest Vintage & Handmade and online in the Animalia Store! Here is a little run down on each:

Nest Vintage & Handmade is owned and curated by Lisa Rios and Jon Cherry who are also crafters in addition to running their own store. (Great Etsy featured seller article here) Their adorable shop is located in the Community complex in Anaheim, CA. Community is a group of independently owned shops and is described as a unique retail environment. I agree, it is super cute and fun to walk around. Swing by on the first Wednesday of every month for drinks, food, music, great art and more as Community throws a monthly get together. I'm so excited to be a part of the offering at Nest as they carry some amazing handmade goods. Check them out!

Animalia is an online shop run by Rachael Posnak which features and sells art, housewares, clothing, books, and more. Animalia donates 10% of every purchase to wildlife conservation and that is something I can certainly get behind! As the name implies Animalia's selection mainly consists of animal-related goods and design so if you are looking for a gift for the animal lover in your life or you love supporting greta causes, check out her shop!

I did a little interview with the Australian based Finders Keepers as part of their International Artists feature! Check it out ----> Interview

Also, I've listed a brand new screenprint in the shop! This one is called "Owl Friends" and is 12.5" x 16", making it poster-sized and much larger than the prints I usually do. The inspiration behind this design is what I call "Scandinavian-Woodland" with simple, clean shapes, bright colors, and forest-dwelling creatures. This design will also be part of the 2012 Owl Lovers Calendar but in a much different colorway. The screenprint features turquoise, peach, and light gray inks on recycled white paper by French Paper and is limited to just 32 prints.

Back in Business

September 26, 2011

I apologize if you came by my blog or site yesterday and noticed that I had been hacked. Well, I was indeed hacked! Actually both my website and blog, which are self-hosted on Wordpress.org, were compromised along with over 700,000 other sites hosted by InMotion Hosting. Hacker "Tiger M@te" created quite a frenzy yesterday as owners of these sites and blogs scrambled to find a way to restore their sites. I have to say InMotion has been such a help and really have gone out of their way to resolve any and all issues after the hacking took place. Also a big shoutout to my love, Mr. Cesar Fernandez, for his computer skills, patience, and his ability to keep me calm throughout the whole ordeal! My blog and site should be back to normal but if you notice anything please let me know. It was quite a stressful affair, with us being away from the studio and at the Abbot Kinney Festival and having to work a show and be on our phones trying to fix the sites remotely. But the show was a huge success and the sites are back so let's start a new week shall we?

I wanted to share this gorgeous online magazine called Chickpea that my Animal Buttons have been featured in. The magazine is a quarterly online publication focusing on Veganism and features mouthwatering recipes, great earth and animal friendly products, beautiful photography and more! They also have a Tumblr site so make sure to check it out and pass it on!

I hope everyone has a great week. Can you believe that September is almost over? Where did it go!?

Happy Monday

August 29, 2011

If you are planning on attending the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago make sure to locate and swing by the Domestica booth! Domestica is a great shop run by Chrissy Jensen out of Des Moines, IA. She will have a booth setup with pieces from many of the artists involved with the shop, including myself. You can find a selection of my prints, pillows, cards, buttons, and felt keychains. So although I won't be there in person, I'll be represented!

For your reading pleasure, here is a link to an interview I did the with LA Egotist!

And lastly, I can hardly believe it, but I am starting to add HOLIDAY cards to the shop! I have a couple listed now and there are still more to come.

Have a great week!
