We're off to Catalina Island! Cesar surprised me with this trip for our 6 year anniversary, how amazing is that!? Has anyone been? Any must see sights or must do activities? I am looking forward to getting there, taking in all the beauty, relaxing, exploring the island, and spending some QT with my man. I feel fortunate that we live so close to such an incredible get away. The shuttle boat leaves right out of Long Beach Harbor so it makes for a quick excursion. I'm sure I'll be taking lots of photos so follow me on Instagram (@sassandperil) to keep up. I'm absolutely taking my Canon with me as well as I am sure there will be many photographic scenes to capture and not just on an iPhone!

So this will be a short post because we are out of town in Florida, but I wanted to share a couple of photos I took at our friend's wedding yesterday. These are just Instagram photos, but fear not, I've been snapping away on the Canon so I can't wait to get those uploaded and edited. Aw man...this wedding was so beautiful! The ceremony took place in a covered bridge over a lake and the reception was in a barn, which is right up my alley!  Nicole and Rob are such stylish, cool, and down-to-earth people so I knew we'd be in for a fun and creative affair. The bride included many handmade and vintage touches in her wedding so I can't wait to share more images soon.

5 years ago today... Cesar and I officially started dating! Awwww.

4 years ago today... We had moved to California and were enjoying our first summer on the West coast!

3 years ago today... We found ourselves in a great new apartment in Long Beach, CA and were settling in having fun with new friends and trying new things.

(ok, so maybe we weren't snowboarding in August but you get the idea)

2 years go today... I was in Greece having the most amazing time with family, sadly w/o Cesar though. Next time hunny!

 1 year ago today... We spent the day in LA at the Getty, LACMA, then to a basketball game at the Staples Center

Today, August 23rd 2011... Cesar and I celebrate our 5 year anniversary!!! Unfortunately he is in Vegas :( but I look forward to celebrating this weekend!

HAPPY 5 YEARS, I LOVE YOU!!

Meet Griffin, the newest member of our (now 3-cat) household! He just showed up one day, as sweet as can be, and we fell in love with him. We found out he was already neutered and he's taken to us well, which means that someone probably abandoned the poor baby!! We think he's about 1-1.5 years old because he is very playful and kitten-like. He's pretty big but still kind of awkward and lanky. Cesar says he's a lot like him, ha! We are keeping him away from the other two cats for a few days so he gets acclimated to the house.
