Digital Prints

November 20, 2012

So while you were sleeping, we added a new category to the s+p collection! We've been toying with the idea of a digital prints range for some time now, and were encouraged along by many of your responses on the product surveys we've put out in the past. Our goal was to create some quality, eye-catching and stylish poster-sized designs for your home and office at an economical price point. We understand that while screenprints are extra special when it comes to process and exclusivity, many of you change out your art frequently or are perhaps looking for the ability to customize the colors in your prints (coming soon)! By no means are we abandoning screenprinting the bulk of our pieces, as a matter of fact we've got two new screenprinted series set to debut over the next couple months. We're just spicing up the assortment a bit. If you've ordered from us in the past you know our quality control levels are very high, so you can be assured we've secured the most top of the line equipment and papers for these prints. You can check out each product listing for more on the inks + papers used. We hope you'll like the new "digis", as we are affectionately referring to them, and that you'll perhaps snap a few up in our Holiday weekend sale! More details on that tomorrow if you didn't already get our newsletter.

A Week in Review

November 17, 2012

Thought I'd share with you guys some exciting news and changes that happened this week. First off, THREE of our screenprints were featured on set in Fox's GLEE! I actually got word from a friend that the Red Fox was spotted, but then when I went back to watch the episode on Hulu, I saw the other two! All three prints are used in Kitty's room during the Sandra Dee number, which is at about 15:00 into the episode. The Peace Heart and Potted Garden are discontinued prints but you can still purchase the Red Fox here

The second bit of news is that the portfolio for my design work has a new home! The Design Studio link on this site will direct you to the new site, aptly named Shannon Kennedy Designs. I've been wanting to create some separation from s+p to my freelance work for a while now so I am glad it is finally complete. Check out the new site and let me know what you think!

This Sunday November 11th, Cesar and I will be selling at the Patchwork Show in our good old city of Long Beach! The event is FREE and is from 11-5. The location is called Marine Stadium, but it is actually a large lot down by the water at the corner of Appian and Bayshore. We'll be at booth #95. This event is always a good time especially since we get to see our local friends and shoppers! As promised prior, here are two coupons that you can print out and bring to the show to use toward purchases. You can also just open it as a window on your smartphone at the show to save paper. Hope to see some of you there!

Hello November!

November 02, 2012

Well, it's been a bit quiet here on the blog front but for good reason. The Holidays are fast approaching and I'm busy designing new goodies for the shop and getting prepped for all the upcoming Holiday shows. With that being said, here is our 2012 Holiday show schedule! I really hope to get to see some of you at one of these events. Also keep posted as I will be releasing coupons that you can print out and bring to the shows.

Some other items to note, I am offering Free Shipping (US addresses only) on all orders over $50 here in the shop. I've also marked down quite a bit of product to make way for new ones so snap these deals up before they are gone forever!

Lastly, if you follow me on Twitter you may have seen that I have been working on a new brand!! The Paper Cub Co. is our new "sister" brand and will focus on offering modern greetings and paper goods. Eventually all of the greeting cards that are in the s&p shops will be migrated over to The Paper Cub. I'm really excited about being able to offer a wider variety of designs and printing methods including not only screenprinted greetings but letterpress and offset as well. There will also be much more than just greeting cards. I haven't officially let the cat out of the bag just yet (well I guess I'm sort of doing that now), but I can tell you that this brand will be making its full debut at the National Stationery Show next May in NYC! The website is in the works, as well as all of the designs, but you can follow The Paper Cub Co. on Twitter to receive updates. I've also gone ahead and set up an Etsy shop where I've released a California postcard design to get things going. There is so much more to come so I hope you'll stay tuned! Don't forget to follow along on Twitter for news and updates!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I've had this thing lately for lighter colored items, especially furniture, and namely white. There is just something so fresh and clean about white and when paired with light wood it takes on a very modern and minimal feel. Maybe it is due to moving and wanting to start fresh with some decor and furniture pieces, but I am just loving this look and hoping to snag a few pieces. Of course, as with most decorative trends moderation is key unless you want to wind up looking like a gallery or too staged. I think that a few statement pieces and knick knacks mixed with other modern and vintage items would keep the look from becoming overdone. Here are some of my favorite items and styling below. What is your take on this look? Love it? Loath it?

Y STOOL // OFFICE

CERAMIC + WOOD VESSELS

EX.T BATHROOM // NORMANN TABLE

GRATERS

RAFT DESK

ONE BY ONE BOOK // KETTLE

SUSANNA VENTO STYLING // FACETED CONTAINER

SIDE TABLE // BIRD

CB2 COFFEE TABLE

MILK LAMP // FRUIT BOWLS

MINI LIBRARY // LION NIGHT LIGHT

COAT RACK // LAMP

WEST ELM LAMP // DESK STYLING

FOX MUGS // SPOONS

I've got quite a bit of new product to share with you all today. I had planned on posting this on Monday but I just couldn't wait! So here I sit on a Saturday afternoon adding 5 new screenprints to my collection and I couldn't be more pleased! First up is the pièce de résistance my new Alphabet Screenprint. This print is a whopping 18" x 24" and is hand screenprinted using four ink colors: blue, yellow, red, and black. This print was a doozie to produce, let me tell you, but I am so happy with the results and I hope you will like it, too! Due to its size, it would make a great center piece for your little one's room or even give it as a gift. It is a truly timeless theme with a sass&peril twist, and as with all my pieces it has been designed and hand-pulled by me with love for you! You can view more photos, see more details, and purchase the screenprint here in my online shop or on Etsy.

Next up is a new series of Scandinavian-inspired fruit screenprints. My goal here was to take a recognizable shape, such as those of fruits, and give them a geometric pattern twist. I adore Scandinavian design and motifs and wanted to bring some of that pattern work into my designs. I couldn't decide on just one color for these, I even asked some of you on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, but it came back pretty dead even on black vs. a traditional color. Sometimes black packs just as bold of a punch as a bright color would so I went with both! I'm also really pleased that I went with the poster size 12.5" x 19" on these as they really make a statement at the bigger size. You can purchase these here in the online shop or on Etsy

Now for a little CONTEST! I am offering up each screenprint to three lucky winners! Here's how it will work:

- Pin the print you'd like to win on Pinterest with a link back to the actual print in either my online shop or my Etsy shop. (It must be a link to the product NOT this blog post)

- Start following sass&peril on Pinterest (This is not mandatory, I'm not going to force you to follow me, but it would be great to connect!)

- Leave me a comment here saying you pinned with your Pinterest profile URL. (I will be checking so no fibbing!)

** Extra credit: Post to your Facebook and/or Twitter (same rules as above). Each post will count as one entry so you can have up to 3 entries for each screenprint you'd like to win!

There will be three different winners and three prints will be given away. One person will win the Alphabet print, another person will win one of the Apple prints (either black or red), and the last person will win one of the Pear prints (either black or green).

I will choose the winners on October 6th, in one week! Make sure you check back to see if you've won and happy pinning!
